David joined the firm as a Paralegal in July 2015 and is now a Trainee Solicitor in the Commercial Disputes and Business Services Department. David frequently advises clients in relation to commercial/ contractual disputes and is also developing experience in advising clients in relation to property disputes and defamation issues. David also has experience in dealing with possession claims.
Prior to joining Hutton’s, David spent 9 months working the Estate Administration Department at a large commercial firm in Cardiff. David therefore has a great deal of experience in dealing with the full administration process for both taxable and non-taxable estates. Since joining Hutton’s David has continued to develop his knowledge and understanding of this area and has gained experience in dealing with contentious and insolvent estates. In addition to this, David also has experience in will drafting, powers of attorney and advising clients on how to minimise their Inheritance Tax liability.
David also spent a number of months assisting the Criminal Department. This involved the preparation of cases being heard in the Magistrates Court.
Outside of work, David is a keen sportsman and enjoys keeping fit. He particularly enjoys playing football and captains an 11-a-side team who play every Saturday in the UCCL league. David is part of a team at Hutton’s who are taking part in Cardiff Half Marathon in October 2017 to raise money for Reaching Justice Wales.
David also enjoys travelling and discovering new places and cultures. After graduating from University he spent nine months working and travelling in Australia and New Zealand. In addition, David also likes to spend time with his family and friends.
